Beginners Archery Classes

As a beginner in archery, you will need to learn the basics and by that we mean the getting stated aspect of it. The first thing you will be learning in beginners archery classes will be the types of archery available. You need to know and understand that there are basically two types of archery and they are target archery and field archery. Target archery is basically the type in which you will be given targets to shoot at a given distance and with a given number of arrows and you have to know that this is usually the one you see in Olympics. Most beginners will be familiar with this type of archery because it is a form of sport in the Olympics, its quite easy to understand. Moving on to field archery, this one is usually performed on woodlands. This type or archery requires the archer to use his instincts and judgments because the distances will be unmarked. You can find both traditional and animal archery in field archery because the targets are set across on a field which is usually on woodlands.

In archery classes, another set of information that you will be given will be the information on the different styles of bows. There are a vast range of bows when you are talking about archery and shooting, you need to be conversant with them if you want to go far with archery either as a hobby or go for competition. Basically, there are four types of bows and we will be discussing one after the other. In proper archery classes, you will learn about the compound bow, traditional bow, fiberglass bow and Recurve bow. Let’s take them one after the other below.

Whenever you hear about compound bows, you will know that they are the newest type in the sport. This kind of bow is very easy in drawing because it has cams with other accessories such as release aids and telescopic sights. The one that is usually used by beginners is the fiberglass bow and that is what a good archery class will teach you. This is the best bow for those who just have an interest in bows and then if you want to farther with the sport that’s when you talk about the Recurve bows. Since you know that in archery classes you will be taught the different types of archery, Recurve bows are usually used in target archery. It is the only kind or type of bow that is allowed by the authorities to be used in the Olympics. Then there is the traditional bow which is known to be the simplest type of bow and there are about three of its types. The Japanese Kyudo, English longbows and American flat bows are all types of traditional bows. They are usually seen as wooden arrows designed with feathers and other accessories such as gloves and quivers.
